ISLAMIC, Time of the Rashidun. Pseudo-Byzantine types. Circa AH 37-55 / AD 658-675. Fals (Bronze, 23 mm, 5.43 g, 12 h), imitating a follis of Constans II, uncertain mint, AH 24/5-26/7 = AD 645-647. Draped imperial bust facing, wearing crown with cross, holding cross in his right hand; in upper left field, six-pointed star; in upper right field, crescent; in field to right, S. Rev. A well struck and unusually heavy example of this difficult issue. Very fine.
